Challenge: High burden of undiagnosed encephalitis in tertiary care settings, with a significant gap in pathogen detection.
Solution: Dr Kashyap designed and implementation of a metagenomic Next- Generation Sequencing (NGS) study to identify viral and bacterial causes in CSF samples. We led regulatory documentation, clinical protocol refinement, ethics submission, and data interpretation support.
Impact: The study identified new etiological patterns in neuroinfectious diseases, influenced diagnostic strategies in neurocritical care, and contributed to global genomic surveillance data.
